With a learner centered philosophy, the Academy of Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Recovery (the Academy) has standardized instructional design to strengthen learning, practice, and build consistency regardless of who from the faculty is presenting. PRA works to collaborate with like-minded groups and academic institutions as well as people in recovery and peer support specialists to achieve overall training goals.
Vision: To be the trusted source of vetted, important knowledge, and information in the areas of psychiatric rehabilitation, as well as leadership and management.
Mission: To provide whole career lifelong learning in psychiatric rehabilitation, employment, wellness, resiliency, and recovery.
Goals: Through an enhanced professional development training center, PRA connects great ideas with great people and provides exceptional learning opportunities to enhance the professional development of the psychiatric rehabilitation community in three areas:

Health & Wellness in Psychiatric Rehabilitation Webinar Series
Dedicated to the health and wellness of persons whom the recovery workforce serves in mental health and substance use services, the Health & Wellness in Psychiatric Rehabilitation webinar series (4 parts) covers the dimensions of the SAMHSA (2013) Pledge for Wellness. Multicultural in perspective, the series is representative of physical health, sexuality, ageism and co-occurring substance-use information. Children's Certificate in Psychiatric Rehabilitation In-Person Training
The Children’s Certificate in Psychiatric Rehabilitation In-Person Course is offered over 3 days and provides 20 contact hours of continuing education. This training course delivers hands-on instruction for practitioners who work with children of transition age or younger and their families. Read more.
