The New You: Promoting Health with the Nutrition and Exercise for Wellness and Recovery (NEW-R) Program

This workshop will review an 8-week curriculum that helps participants eat healthier, become more physically active, and better manage their weight. Nutrition and Exercise for Wellness and Recovery (NEW-R) is designed to increase knowledge, skills and motivation for people in recovery to engage in weight management activities. This workshop will review the components of the NEW-R curriculum and will use a combination of teaching methods to familiarize participants with content and instructional strategies, including didactic lecture, discussion, and active participant engagement. Segments of the NEW-R intervention will be demonstrated during the presentation.
